Ecocert India organised a client meeting on, August 28th 2018, at Le Meridien, Coimbatore. The event aimed at bringing together key players in Tirupur, Coimbatore and Karur to discuss sustainable practices for businesses. Thomazo Philippe – CEO, Ecocert Group, Anil Jadhav, Managing Director, Ecocert India and Sumit Gupta, Deputy Director Standards Development & Quality Assurance – GOTS, were the key speakers. Event also witnessed the attendance of Dr. KP Vetrivel from ATDC. Attended by about 50 textile exporters the event was important  for discussing responsible practices in business operations.

“With about 50 per cent of India’s textile exports coming from Tamil Nadu, it is one of our important markets and I am sure the industry here is bound to grow,” said Philippe Thomazo. While addressing the audience about the new services of Fair for Life, For Life and CSR, Anil Jadhav said, “We, as a leading sustainability services company remain focused on integrating sustainability in everything we do, and this will contribute to retention of our leadership position.”

The event was well received by attendees who discussed the challenges and possible solutions that can support the sustainability initiatives for textile and home textile industry in the region.
