Filatex India is set to boost its growth through recycling and renewable energy. The company has announced a 75-tonne-per-day polyester recycling plant, costing around Rs 300 crore, to be commissioned by August-September 2026.
The plant will generate Rs 275 crore annually and serve as a pilot before Filatex replicates the model globally. The company is also planning capacity expansion of 130-150 tonnes, along with renewable energy initiatives.
From January, over half of power needs will be met through a captive project, with Filatex holding 26 per cent equity. The overall capex is set at Rs 650 crore, with returns expected by FY27.
Chairman and MD Madhu Sudhan Bhageria said, “We have developed and patented a technology to recycle textile waste into chips, which can then be spun into yarn. This is the solution the world is looking for.”
