The garment industry has always played an important role in the industrial and economic development of our States of Delhi/NCR. The garment sector has seen rapid growth in the last few years and still holds tremendous potential for growth in today’s era. Over the years, Noida, UP has made rapid progress and is among the fastest growing garment hubs of the country. In fact, over the last decade, a number of integrated garment & knitting units, supported by world class processing and printing have come up in the area. There are over 3,500 manufacturing units in the region of Noida and Greater Noida. The Noida Apparel Exporter Cluster (NAEC) has taken the initiative to sign a MoU with Yamuna Expressway Authority for 200-acre land for a proposed Apparel Park. Also, there is a big need for the existing textile units here to upgrade itself with the latest technological developments taking place worldwide.

The current supply and demand factors provide a very favorable environment for technological investment. Keeping this in view, the Garment Technology Expo (GTE) was organized at Noida Expo Center which provided all the technologies of garment making under one roof. The largest industry show in the subcontinent, GTE (Garment Technology Expo 2023 Delhi/NCR) was held from July 21–24, 2023, at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida.

The exhibition was spread over 16000 square meters and consisted of 3 halls. It is South Asia’s most comprehensive apparel technology expo, showcasing everything related to apparel production. GTE Delhi/NCR International is considered the best launchpad to introduce innovations, technology upgradation, new materials, processes and services. The four-day exhibition was organized by Garment Technology Expo Pvt. Ltd. Ltd. in association with Gujarat Garment Manufacturers Association (GGMA) and Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan (GEAR).

In this 34th edition, more than 675 brands & companies participated and was inaugurated by the Chief Guests Lalit Thukral, President, Noida Apparel Export Cluster and H.K.L. Magu, MD, Jyoti Apparels with Inderjit S. Sahni, CMD, Garment Technology Expo in the presence of leading technology suppliers from the industry like Anil Anand & Megha Anand from HCA, Sunder Belani from Ramsons, Pavan Kapoor, Kartik Kapoor, and Raghav Sharma from IIGM, Viraf Turel from E.H. Turel, Bharath from Mehala Machines, Umesh Gaur from Tukatech, Mukund Agarwal from Baba Textile Machinery, Sudhakar Varma from Jack Sewing Machines and Dhaval Dadia from DCC.

Companies including leading manufacturers and suppliers of garment machinery and accessories from India as well as abroad participated in the show. The four-day expo received very good response with more than 12,600 trade visitors, including exporters and domestic manufacturers from various parts of India and Nepal.

The B2B Expo provides a single point meeting ground for the garment manufacturers and technology providers to discuss and source latest technological developments in the industry under one roof. The growth of the expo in terms of the increasing number of new participants from across the globe and increase in overall size of the exhibition speaks volume for the fruitful & appreciable role played by GTE for upgrading the apparel industry in Delhi/NCR and nearby states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan etc.
