In the global fashion and decorative industries, embellishment materials are far more than decorative elements – they are components that transform design into brilliance. From couture garments and jewellery to footwear and accessories, precision glass beads form the foundation of decorative design, defining texture, movement, and sparkle across a wide range of applications.
Within this specialised sector, Krupa Chatons Manufacturing Company Pvt. Ltd. has established itself as one of India’s most significant manufacturers of glass beads and embellishment components, serving designers and manufacturers across more than 50 industries worldwide.
A legacy of manufacturing excellence
Krupa Chatons Manufacturing Company Pvt. Ltd. was taken over by Mr. Satish Dhirajlal Vithalani in 1982, marking the beginning of a sustained journey of industrial growth, technological development, and product innovation. For over four decades, the group has consistently manufactured and exported high-quality glass beads and glass bead accessories used across industries such as jewellery, garments, handicrafts, footwear, accessories, and decorative applications.
Today, the company’s brands Krupa and Asmara have established a strong presence not only across India but also in international markets including Africa, the Middle East, North America, and South America.
With production capacity reaching millions of glass beads every day, Krupa operates one of the most extensive glass bead manufacturing facilities in India, supplying a wide spectrum of embellishment materials to designers, manufacturers, and distributors around the world.
Integrated manufacturing and material control
A key strength of Krupa’s manufacturing ecosystem lies in its commitment to backward integration and in-house manufacturing capabilities.
By producing its own glass and developing specialised manufacturing technologies, the company maintains strict control over raw materials, colour development, and product consistency. This integrated approach allows greater flexibility in developing new products while ensuring reliable quality across production batches.
Krupa currently manufactures more than 60 natural colours of high-quality glass, produced using advanced electric and gas furnaces that allow precise control over temperature and material composition.
In addition to these natural glass colours, specialised colouring, silvering, and high-vacuum coating processes enable the creation of thousands of colour variations and visual effects, giving designers and manufacturers exceptional flexibility across applications.
Precision manufacturing technology
The production of precision glass beads requires sophisticated manufacturing systems and rigorous quality control. At Krupa, glass formulation begins in an automated batch house, where raw materials are measured and blended to ensure accurate glass recipes and consistent composition.
During tube forming, sensor-based monitoring systems regulate tube diameter and hole size to achieve precise dimensional control.
Modern cutting technologies are used to produce beads with accurate lengths, smooth edges, and consistent dimensions, while the rounding process is carried out using self-developed machinery refined over many years. These machines have demonstrated bead roundness comparable to standards associated with European and Japanese bead manufacturers.
To further enhance brilliance, Krupa utilizes proprietary fire polishing systems that remove surface roughness and restore the natural shine of the glass.
Throughout the production process, beads undergo multiple sieving and inspection stages, where size accuracy, hole consistency, and surface finish are carefully verified. Strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) govern every stage of production to ensure consistent quality. Each production lot is also tested in the company’s laboratory to verify coating durability and product performance.
Product portfolio
Krupa Chatons offers one of the most diverse ranges of glass bead products manufactured in India.
Machine Beads are designed for automated garment embroidery machines, ensuring smooth feeding and uninterrupted production.
Seed Beads, ranging from 1.2 mm to 4.5 mm, are available in multiple shapes including round, bugle, and hexagonal varieties.
Pressed Beads are produced by pressing heated glass rods into moulds, offering a wide range of shapes, sizes, and colours.
Fire Polished Beads are machine cut and then polished with fire to produce smooth surfaces and strong reflective shine in sizes from 3 mm to 20 mm.
In addition to beads, Krupa also manufactures Chatons (rhinestones) and Crystal AD (Artificial Diamond), precision-cut glass embellishments used in fashion, footwear, and decorative applications.
The company also produces value-added components such as Sew-On Cups, Cup Chains, decorative Shoe Uppers, and Rock Sheets, which simplify the application of glass embellishments across garments and accessories.
Responsible manufacturing
Krupa Chatons Manufacturing Company Pvt. Ltd. places strong emphasis on environmental responsibility and workplace safety. The company’s facilities are equipped with advanced dust collection and air filtration systems designed to capture fine particulate matter generated during cutting and polishing processes, improving air quality and creating a safer working environment.
In addition, Krupa operates an in-house water treatment plant that processes wastewater to remove contaminants before discharge, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and protecting surrounding ecosystems.
Craftsmanship at industrial scale
With over four decades of experience in glass manufacturing, Krupa Chatons Manufacturing Company Pvt. Ltd. has built a unique position within the industry by combining traditional glass craftsmanship, proprietary manufacturing technologies, and large-scale production capabilities.
As global demand for decorative materials continues to evolve, Krupa Chatons remains committed to innovation, product development, and responsible manufacturing. With its combination of manufacturing scale, technical expertise, and continuous innovation, Krupa Chatons continues to play a defining role in shaping the future of glass bead manufacturing in India.
