Chief Minister M K Stalin has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for selecting Virudhunagar District to establish a PM Mitra Park (PM mega integrated textile region and apparels parks scheme).
Under this scheme, the Ministry of Textiles had issued a notification of setting up seven mega integrated textile region and apparel parks with an outlay of 4,445 cr. These PM Mitra Parks will have world-class industrial infrastructure which would attract cutting edge technology and boost FDI and local investment in the textiles sector, according to the Union Government.
Welcoming the Prime Minister’s move to select Virudhunagar District for the project, Stalin said that it will be a big boost to the textile sector in Southern TN. “Our Sipcot has 1,052 acres of land and is ready to implement the project to generate employment for our youth,” said the Chief Minister.
