Myanmar is on track to meet its target of drawing $10 bn worth of textile exports by 2024, an official from the Myanmar Garment Entrepreneurs Association (MGEA) told report. The target was set as part of Myanmar’s ten-year export strategy in 2014. During fiscal 2018-19, the textile manufacturing sector generated $4.6 bn in export revenue, making up nearly 10 percent of the country’s export revenues, according to the Ministry of Commerce. This fiscal year, officials are expecting textile export revenues to reach $5 bn.
