Surat International Textile & Machinery Expo Becomes the most successful trade show for embroidery

Surat, an emerging city, is known as the textile city of Gujarat. The textile industry is one of the oldest and most widespread in Surat. According to a report, there are more than 700,000 power looms, 200,000 embroidery machines, and 200 wholesale textile markets with over 50,000 manufacturers, traders, printers, processors, and embroidery job workers in the Rs. 500-billion synthetic textile hub of Surat. In the last five years industry has also been investing in knitting and garment manufacturing. Many new units are coming up in garment making, both for domestic and export.

The textile production of Surat has been growing continuously for the last 15 years; one of the main reasons behind the growth is the ability to adapt to changes and invest in the latest trends. It is also necessary to update the technology used in the industry as well as the infrastructure. The current supply and demand factors provide a very conducive and favourable business and market environment for the technological investment. In such a scenario, there is a big need for the industry to upgrade itself with the latest technological developments taking place worldwide.

That is why, for providing the latest embroidery technologies under one roof and promoting the ‘Brand SURAT’, the Surat Embroidery Association (SEA) and the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI) jointly organised the 5th edition of SITME 2026 – Surat International Textile & Machinery Expo from 9 to 12 January, 2026, at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC).

The show was inaugurated with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony by Dr Sourabh Pardhi, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, along with Guest of Honour Shri Ajay Ajmera, CEO & Founder of Ajmera Fashion Ltd, Shri Kailash Hakim, President of the Federation of Surat Textile Traders’ Association, and committee members of the Surat Embroidery Association (SEA) and the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI).

Mr Ashok Jirawala, Vice President, SGCCI, said in the welcome address, “The textile industry is the largest employment-generating industry in the country after agriculture. In Surat city, about 24 lakh people are getting employment through the textile industry. Future brands will get created in Surat with the help of these high-speed embroidery machines. Embroidery has given a lifeline to the Surat textile industry.”

Surat Collector and District Magistrate, Dr Saurabh Pardhi, in his address, said, “Approximately 2 lakh embroidery machines are operational in Surat, through which many women are associated with the embroidery sector, which is helping Surat International Textile & Machinery Expo Becomes the most successful trade show for embroidery women’s empowerment. Our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has given the textile industry the sky to fly and the runway to run. Due to continuous support and favourable policies from the Central Government, the textile industry is developing at a rapid pace and is making a strong identity for itself at the global level.”

He further added that the textile industry has made an important contribution to the all-round development of Surat. The embroidery sector has played a special role in taking the industry to new heights. In this exhibition, a huge display of advanced technology and modern machinery of embroidery is being displayed, which will provide an opportunity for the industrialists to adopt new technology and will lead to all-round development of the textile industry. This exhibition will further strengthen Surat’s textile industry.

Mr Sanjay Jha, Joint Secretary, the Surat Embroidery Association, said, “It is the largest exhibition on embroidery machinery, spare parts and related raw materials. The two halls are completely filled in with more than 50 leading brands of embroidery machinery being displayed under one roof, which is a significant achievement for the industry. He said that the embroidery sector has developed significantly in the last twenty years, and today the sector has reached new heights.”

Mr Kiran Thummar, Chairman of All Exhibitions of the Chamber, conducted the inaugural ceremony and thanked Chief guest and all the members for the support and hard work in making this event a grand success. He wished all the participants a very successful show.

“In this edition, more than 65 different companies have put up their stalls, and more than 39000 buyers have visited from Surat and nearby states. Every year more than 10,000 new embroidery machines are purchased in Surat, which houses around 2 lakh embroidery machines now. It is a very profitable business, and hence many newcomers are investing in this business. The Surat embroidery industry has a very bright future ahead,” said Manohar Tekchandani, President, Surat Embroidery Association.

Mr.Nikhil Madrasi, President, SGCCI said “ the SITME exhibition witnessed a rush of buyers from the very first day itself. the SITEM exhibition was a grand success with visitors from Surat, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Surendranagar, Mumbai, Silvassa, Amroli, Ukai, Ambala, Punjab, Abrama, Howrah, Ludhiana, Palghar, Bhavnagar and Bhiwandi. The exhibitors had oneto-one business meetings with buyers from across the country, which resulted in a large number of inquiries being generated, which are likely to be converted into orders and generate 850 crore business in the coming days”.

The exhibition was organised by SGCCI and the Surat Embroidery Association with a view to promote and accelerate modernisation in the textile sector. SITME is the platform for the industry people who are planning to upgrade their factories. The show was co-sponsored by Silver samurai-Tang, SinSim Liberty and Zenix embroidery and textile machines.

At this show, manufacturers and dealers of embroidery machinery showcased their wide range of innovative products and services. It is an ideal business opportunity for the textile manufacturers, job workers, and entrepreneurs to source new technologies and upgrade their factories to become globally competitive. We are the oldest in this industry, started in 2001, and it has been 25 years in the embroidery machine business. In this exhibition, we have launched two new machines. One 23 head, 5 beads, 2 sequins with cording, and the second is 23 head, 4 beads, 2 sequins with cording in 1500-1800 RPM.

We always focus on quality, service and customer relations. All three are very important for making brand. We have maintained all three things for 25 years, and that is why we are successful.

We have a total of 66 members in our Surat embroidery association, and bringing them together was a big challenge. our all committee members have put in the efforts and hard work to make this exhibition successful. At the same time SGCCI has done a very good job in organising and marketing the show.

We have been doing SITME every year since 2008. This time it is happening after two years. This time everyone has brought the latest technology which we saw in the Cisma China exhibition. I think it is even better here. The visitor response was fantastic, and more than 40,000 visitors came in four days. This has broken all previous records of visitor turnout.

The future of the Surat embroidery industry is very bright. This is the biggest embroidery hub, having more than 2 lakh machines. Everyone is upgrading their technology here. Now with the new handwork machine, there is a lot of demand in the market. Many new units are also coming up in readymade garments. Surat is going to be the next garmenting hub of India.

We are associated with the Promaker company from China. They have one of the best manufacturing facilities. We are showing our Tejas 1.0 model, which is a 1500 RPM machine and running at 1350 RPM. It has 5 types of beads, including Zardozi, Jarkan, 2 mm beads, 2.5 mm beads, and pipe, and 2 types of sequins with a cording device. In 23 head it is the best and highest-speed machine. You can see the design running on our machine here. The entire handwork has been transferred to the machine.

The second machine is Tejas 2.0, which is an 1800 RPM machine and runs at 1500 RPM. It has a twin sequins and cording device which runs at 1500 RPM. This machine doubles your production. The purpose of these fast machines is to solve the labour problems faced by the industry today.

The third machine is a 7-head sampling embroidery machine with laser. This machine is for those who have more than 50 machines. It can be used for appliqué work, beadwork, 3D work, boring work and cording work. Everything is included in one machine.

The fourth machine is a single-head machine. It has a laser, beads, boring and a sequence head. It is the best machine for any boutique purpose. This machine is perfect for any boutique person.

This year the show was a superhit, with almost 40 thousand people visiting the show. The embroidery industry in Surat is going through one of the best times. We had very good sales in 2025-26. The future looks good, as investing in this business can give you very good and fast returns.

We have displayed a high-speed machine running at 1800 RPM. It has a very strong and heavy structure. Plus, we’ve introduced a 5bead sequin with laser technology, and there’s a very high demand for it in the market.

We represent Yuemei number one in Surat, and not just in Surat, but all over the world wherever these machines are used. And last year too, we did very well. Although our cost is 25% higher, the service is excellent, and the production is higher. Our embroidery finishing is the best compared to any top brands in the market. And when you want to sell the machine after 5 or 7 years, you get a very good resale value.

Last year was good for everyone in the embroidery industry in Surat, but for us, it was extra good. We sold a good number of machines. People are replacing their old machines with advanced machines with new technology. Then people realised that if they didn’t replace them, they wouldn’t get any profit from their work, so that’s why there was a sudden surge in the last two years.

The biggest special thing this time is that we focussed only on embroidery machines and even with such a large crowd quality of visitor is good. 95% of the people who came are related to embroidery. This was a good decision by our association. The visitors’ footfall was something I haven’t seen in 20 years. The show was very well organised and promoted by SGCCI.

This time at this exhibition, we are showcasing two new technologies: advance position embroidery and position printing. The work that was previously done by hand, we have now brought into the machine. This technology has been introduced in India for the first time. You can do all handwork like beads, sequins, zardozi and pipe on specific places of printed and jacquard fabrics.

The second machine is mini-position printing. You can directly print on any type of white thread embroidery, like viscose, polyester, or cotton. You just need curing after printing. This machine is ideal for Kurtis or suit necklines, blouses and T-shirts with frame-sized work. It saves time, as you don’t need multi-coloured threads for embroidery.
Besides this, we have recently launched our new model called NXE, high-speed embroidery machines with 5 beads and 4 beads. In this machine the pantograph is made heavy, the support is large, and the stability is very good at high speed.

In the last 3 days, more than 35,000 visitors have visited. Many customers from outside Surat, like Ahmedabad and Mumbai, have also visited. We have been in this business for 20 years, but we have not seen such a boom in the embroidery industry. The year 2024-25 was one of the best years for embroidery machine sales. We have also sold a lot of machines in the market. Many new technological innovations have come in the machines from China.

In the last two years, a lot of investments have been happening in garment manufacturing; many new factories are coming up in Surat. People from outside Surat are also setting up big factories here. Many buying house offices are also opened.

In terms of technology, this time we are showcasing an 1800 RPM machine which has a 4-bead, 3sequin option. Plus, the cording device is running at 1500 RPM. We are also demonstrating multi-layer patch cutting with a laser, which is our expertise, but this time we have made it even more integrated. We are showing the cutting of multiple different thicknesses of fabrics using a single command. Where we are demonstrating the laser cutting application on 7 different layers.

Another unique machine shown here is triple cording with an auto cutter system, 1.7 mm 4-colour beads, and 2 mm sequins with taping. It has an auto-clamping system and the automatic robotic system.

The third machine is the 1800 RPM machine, in which we are running a combination of sequins, beads, and pipe pearls with 1.7 mm beads running at 1200 RPM. Besides that, we showed two smaller machines for sampling and design, which have 5 beads and 3 sequins with a patented colour change option and also implement Jarkan and zardozi.

The exhibition was very good. I would say that of all the editions so far, this years’ experience was the best. Even people from outside Surat came with specific targets. This exhibition was very well attended with the latest technologies. We’ve been in the Surat market for 12 years now, and customers have appreciated our machine performance.

We are associated with the Maya company from China. The quality they offered and their internal system are very good. They are always bringing new technologies. This time we’ve shown a machine with 3 sequencers and 5 beads, cording in area 23X400. We call it an all-in-one machine, which is very popular in the market right now. I’ve covered all the things that are currently in high demand in the market, and this model is the most sought-after. We are even running a customer’s machine right now, producing their actual work and showing it to the public. It’s been running for 4 days, giving excellent finishing, and the response is very good. We are running run 0.7 mm to 6 mm zardozi work on it. It’s something unique in itself, and anyone who does embroidery job work will understand.

This time visitor turnout is very good, and 80% of the visitors were looking for new business opportunities. The value-added business is the best because in the other two businesses, diamonds and weaving, your investment is much higher and ROI is much longer. So I feel that for the next 6 months the business will be very good.

If we talk about the year 2025, this has been one of the best years. The best in my career. The reason, as I mentioned, is that new people are joining this business and there is good profitability. So, I think the future will be very bright for the Surat embroidery industry.

We have displayed two technologies at this exhibition. One is the 1500 RPM machine, which is the actual RPM where double sequencing and cording are also running at 1500 RPM. Until now, the devices weren’t high-speed. Now, the devices have also become highspeed along with the machine. Another thing the machine we’ve brought is a looper with beads, which makes towel work possible on the embroidery machine. The beauty of the towel work with beads is remarkable and at a reasonable cost. We have very high hopes that it will do very well in the future. We are the number one service provider in the industry.

Our Surat market is a bit different; it believes more in calculations. It doesn’t work with a long-term vision. But for the last two years, we’ve been seeing that the new generation is coming in with a long-term vision and doing good work. The last two years were very good. In the year 2024 we broke all records of machine sales, and 2025 has broken that record too.

The show was excellent. The number of visitors I saw, as per the record for the 3 days, was unexpected. I didn’t expect that so many visitors could come. I thank the organising committee. There are no shortcomings at all, not even 1%. It’s a very good show.

We have displayed some of the latest automation for garment manufacturing, like men’s shirts, where there are many challenges in manual operations. We have displayed an automatic collar machine from Loika that will do the collar making and collar band attachment. It can also make the placket.

Besides that, we have an automatic elastic joining machine for undergarments from Juki. Generally, what happens is that the elastic is measured, cut, and then joined manually. So, we have this automatic machine which will automatically feed and stitch the elastic. If there’s a logo, it will stitch the logo on the side. There won’t be any overlap on the logo.

Besides that, we have a concept machine for undergarments, which has a four-needle machine, a rightside elastic attaching machine, a flat seaming machine, and an elastic joining machine from Kansai. In addition, we have an auto button feeder from Juki with a buttonattaching machine. The button feeder machine automatically picks up the button and saves time.

We have also displayed pocket and sleeve placket creasing and fusing machines. Apart from this, we have all the machines for garment making.

Surat is a growing city, and everyone has the next generation joining the family business. They want to do something new, so garment manufacturing has a lot of scope, and many new projects are coming up. In the coming time, Surat will become a garmenting hub for both domestic and export markets. A lot of investment is expected in the coming time.

I’ve been working here in Surat for 20 years, but the response I’ve received in these three days is something I’ve never experienced before. Very good facilities and good footfall. You won’t find this in any other exhibition. This is the most successful exhibition to date.

We have been in this business for over 8 years. We have more than five thousand active customers now. Currently, in our design software, which is used for embroidery, we have added many new advanced features for multiple beads and multiple sequences. The Zardozi feature is completely new in the market, and we have added all its features.

Our second product is a production monitoring system, which is receiving a very good response in the industry. With this, you can get live data from all the machines in the factory. You can generate reports for all production-related machine problems and errors. It’s the best tool for making improvements in production. The other product launched in this exhibition is a device called the DOT device, which is like a pen drive. It provides you with the facility to remotely transfer designs or files directly to the machine from anywhere. It’s a secure way; as soon as someone tries to copy from it, it rejects the data. So, it’s a useful device for secure and remote transfer.

Our R&D team continuously works on all the new devices that are coming out, getting support from China and other places in advance, implementing their core systems in the software, and keeping the product future-ready. Currently, the devices are coming in triple sequin combinations, but our software already supports 16 sequins and 8 beads.

The response to this exhibition is very good. From the first day, the footfall was very positive, and the response was much better than we expected. In three days, more than 35,000 people came. our understanding is that the exhibition happened after two years, so there’s more enthusiasm. At present the diamond industry in Surat is quite weak, and many new people are investing in the embroidery industry. It’s all because of profitability of the business, otherwise no one will come. Existing users are also installing new valueadded machines.

This time we’ve brought two machines. One is a tapping machine with a 3-bead device which is running at over 900 RPM, and there’s a mechanism to automatically cut the tapping thread. This makes things very convenient for the workers after framing. It saves a lot of time.

Along with that, we’ve also displayed the 5-bead 3-sequence machine, which was also introduced at SITME. The device we’ve fixed in that machine is from Deshun, China’s number one brand. We are also selling and servicing this device.

The embroidery machine is from Promaker China. After joining with Promaker, we are very happy and have sold many machines in the market. Their machines are very good. The quality, performance, production, and service are very satisfying. The exhibition is very good. A lot of visitors have come in the last three days and received a lot of enquiries. The timing is perfect even though the market is very slow. As soon as the market picks up, we can capitalise on the enquiries that we have received.

We have partnered with the Tang company from China. It is one of the oldest companies in the embroidery industry. It’s a 30-yearold company, and their quality is also good. This time we have showcased a new embroidery machine with 4 sequins plus 2 beads device. If we talk about the devices, we also have in 4 sequins plus 3 beads and 3 sequins plus 2 beads with auto cutter . We have brought high-speed technology in the exhibition. Our machine is running at 1500 RPM, and our device runs at 1000 RPM. This time we have received a very good response, and we also have good customer enquiries.

Last year was very good for the Surat embroidery industry. The factories are upgrading their machines with high-speed and value-added machines, and there’s no need to worry about the next three years. The future looks very bright for our embroidery industry as well as for the Surat textile industry. The show was very well organised by our SEA association and SGCCI. This edition was the best ever.

We represent Tang embroidery machines in India. Our brand, Silver Samurai, started in 2002. This time we have displayed our model Tang-Pro – 12 needle, 23 head, 4 beads with 2 sequin cording devices. A heavy-bodied, stable machine running at 1500 RPM. If you go to see the competition, you will not find such a stable machine. In the other machines, there are more attachments and devices. There are different types of devices running at different RPM.

Last year, we skipped the exhibition; this time, the response is doubled. I think the show was very well organised and executed by SEA and SGCCI. I have been participating in the exhibition but have never seen such a huge crowd. There is very good business for all the exhibitors.

The Surat embroidery industry is doing very well. A lot of investment is happening in new technology. I am sure the Surat textile industry will touch new heights in coming years, and the embroidery industry will also grow with it.

We have been in the machinery business for the last 12 years. We are representing the ZSM brand from China. This time we’ve brought a beads machine to the exhibition. Everyone has beads, but we’re running a 1.7 beads machine, which is successful in very few machines. The other thing is our looping machine. Looping is our main feature; everyone in the exhibition has looping machines, but no one’s looping is as successful as ours. Our finish is also unique. After using our machines, customers are saying that the sound and maintenance of our machine are very low and the machine is better than other machines in the market.

The exhibition was very good, and we have many enquiries. There is good demand for value-added embroidery machines in the market. In the last two years, a lot of machines have been coming into Surat as people are replacing the old machines with fast, highproduction machines. Surat embroidery future looks very bright.

I started the company in the year 2016. Bead embroidery is currently in high demand in the market and will continue to be popular for the next 5 years. In this exhibition we have displayed 5 plus 3 beads embroidery machines, which we’ve already installed in Surat.

Another is a 5-head sample machine that has a laser, 4 sequences, and 3 beads with cording running at 1500 RPM. It has very good demand in the market. We also have a 2000 RPM machine.

We market our embroidery machine under our own brand names, Bahubali and Jiwa. We only focus on quality. So, we get the machines manufactured according to our specifications from China. The quality and finishing are very good. It’s the best machine for export quality work. Our machine can give production of up to 938,000 in 12 hours, which is the highest in Surat. So, the production is much better than others. There’s no competition for it.

We attended this exhibition for the first time, and it was very good. According to SGCCI data, around 34,000 people have already visited in the last three days.

Embroidery has a very bright future because without embroidery, the fabric doesn’t look good. Nobody wears plain prints. There has been a lot of growth in the last few years. Factories are replacing their old machines with fast and value-adding machines.

I have been associated with the Maya company for 25 years selling embroidery machines. Maya is already a very established brand in the embroidery machine. I am the sole selling agent in India for their devices.

In this exhibition, I have brought two devices of the Maya-zardozi device, which is cutting automatically from 4 mm to 11 mm, and a 4 plus 2 sequenced device. Zardozi is available in the market, but it is running in a bead device. This product is a separate device for Zardozi work cutting in roll to roll, and the device is running at 650 RPM very smoothly. It can be installed in any existing machine. Cost-wise, our device is 25% cheaper, and raw material is 4050% cheaper. The price of this cutter is also very nominal. We also have this bead device made by Maya. It is available in 4 beads and 2 double sequins, and the speed is 1100-1200 RPM. It is already running in the industry.

There is a sudden boom in the embroidery industry. In the coming time, the value addition will work because there is something new in embroidery every day. So according to the new additions, I feel that now the weaving/ Jacquard will be down and embroidery will pick up. So it is a good time for the next 10 years for embroidery machines.

Our product is a unique. So I got a very good response, has come to the embroidery machine. Overall the visitor response to the exhibition was very good and well organised.

We are the only brand with a presence in 29 cities across India. We launched three new models. The Mini Schifli, which is our superhit model invented by us. It’s a 5th-generation model, in which we have auto clipping, high speeds of 1800 RPM and many other features. Such a long machine running at this speed for the first time in the industry.

The second model is Dhurandhar. It has a high-speed chain stitch, multisequin, cording, and Zardozi; all the features are included in this machine. The third model, this Typhoon, is offering high-speed beads with zardozi and 3 sequins. The beads are running at 1800 RPM for the first time in this exhibition.

The response was fantastic from day one. On the first day itself, we had many orders finalised. There were orders on the second day, the third day, and today as well.

The last two years were very good for the embroidery industry. We have seen multiple growth in embroidery machine sales. Many brands are opening their branch offices and manufacturing in Surat. Surat is currently lagging behind in the garment sector but will also become a garmenting hub in the future. The Surat textile industry will grow manyfold.

We have showcased 4 Beads Plus 2 Sequin embroidery machines. It’s a new technology where all the handwork can be done by machines very easily. The embroidery finishing is also better and faster. The work that used to take 30 to 45 days will now be completed in just one day.

We have been associated with this industry for 20 years. We started selling new machines two years ago and installed over 950 machines in Surat and Ahmedabad. Our best feature is our after-sale service, and our machines also have fewer problems.

There is good demand for machines for the last two years because of these value-added machines; new things are being made, and handwork is done by machine, giving good return and profit. That’s why we have seen so many machines coming in the last two years in Surat.

The future is very good for embroidery. It’s also very good for the textile industry. The Surat market is developing, and exports are also increasing significantly. The exhibition is very good. I thank the SEA association for organising it so well. There were no problems, and everything was organised wonderfully. They have done a great job.

We are representing Lejia brand embroidery machines in Surat. In this exhibition we have launched high-speed technology, running at 2000 RPM. We also have an 1800 RPM and 1500 RPM model machines which is available for quite some time. The machine has all kinds of the latest features. It comes with all attachments like beads, pipes, sequins, cording, laser and an automatic bobbin changer. It is the heaviest machine in Surat.

The last two years have been excellent for embroidery machine sellers, and we hope it will continue to be good. Even though the market has been down for the last two months, the public has shown full support and come in huge numbers. This is the best exhibition in Surat, where everyone has displayed the latest technology in embroidery. The exhibition is very good and very well organised.
