Next Generation of 3D Solutions from Tukatech
Tukatech’s virtual sample-making software, TUKA3D, is a solution catered to the fit-conscious fashion product developers. “It’s important for a 3D system to help designers use their creativity with design, embellishments, style lines to make a unique looking product but nothing sells unless it fits,” comments Ram Sareen, Founder and CEO of Tukatech. “Brands and retailers who have begun implementing 3D have been stuck using it only in the design stage; they can’t use it for fitting, which ends up wasting time and resources, because they still need to see the fit samples in real life.”
What makes Tukatech’s TUKA3D application unique is the built-in motion simulation, which allows for the garment to be worn by the virtual fit model while they perform various movements such as bending, jumping, flexing, etc. These movements are customized by Tukatech as part of their implementation package. “We include custom virtual models and motions because it’s really the only way to use a 3D system for fit analysis. If you’re not analyzing fit with real-time motion simulation, then you’re not getting the most out of your 3D system,” adds Sareen.
To develop fit, one must have the digital fit model that is a true replica of not just the measurements, but also the live model’s shape and posture. This replication plays a major role to correctly evaluate the drape and fit of a product. With over 650 fit model replicas of brands and retailers, each TUKA3D user is empowered to make a great fitting garment virtually. With the retail sector shifting to a consumerdriven market, agility is the name of the game for brands and vendors. Brand loyalists expect a consistent fit from the brand each time a product is purchased. “Hanger appeal can only go so far. If a garment does not fit well, the ‘look’ will not be there when the consumer wears it,” explains Chris Walia, Tukatech’s VP of Sales & Marketing.
“TUKA3D is built on the most powerful 3D CAD platform developed by Autodesk, 3D Studio Max. This platform enables our users to not only eliminate physical sample-making, but also to make powerful presentations to buyers or even endconsumers,” says Savannah Crawford, the Chief Collaborator at Tukatech. “At the PI Apparel conference in Berlin, we will be showcasing these 3D systems specifically from a fit development and collaboration perspective,” she added.
Other systems in Tukatech’s product development suite include TUKAcloud, the web-based digital sample room, and TUKA3D Designer Edition, the new assetbased design room. Tukatech is the garment and apparel industry’s leading provider of fashion design software and technology solutions. Founded in 1995 by garmentindustry veteran Ram Sareen, Tukatech offers award-winning 2D pattern making, grading, and marker making software, automated marker making software, 3D sample making/virtual prototyping software, as well as garment plotters, and automatic spreaders and cutters for production.
Enterprise material management solutions by Threadsol
The world has transformed, trades have advanced. With the boom of the new era, apparel business all over the world has witnessed majestic shifts. To manage this change, apparel manufacturers need to accelerate their operations and reevaluate the legacy of manufacturing practices. The dynamic technologies being introduced each day is a sign of constant development. ThreadSol – the pioneer in enterprise material management for the sewn products industry- takes pride in constantly challenging the present and being part of such a revolution. ThreadSol’s outlook is to introduce technologically driven products to drive manufacturing by targeting material cost and differentiate from the extremely competitive environment.
With its innovative solutions- intelloBuy, intelloCut, and intello3C, ThreadSol offers an entire range of enterprise material management solutions, which can help apparel manufacturers and brands to boost their topline and bottom-line, in an industry that is heavily dependent upon economic priorities.
intelloCut is a material planning and optimization solution for the sewn products industry. The flagship solution of ThreadSol has been successfully deployed in 150+ factories worldwide, which plan 1.5 bn pieces per year.
With the help of its advanced algorithms, IntelloCut gives the most optimized cutplan and lay plan, in just one click. The cloud computing structure helps to access the solution from any point. It also offers a feedback system which works like GPS: Any variations on floor and the plan can be changed with a single refresh button. With over 150 features, intelloCut is a product ahead of its time and truly defines the new age technology.
In a constant effort to improve, ThreadSol has introduced intelloGreen: A tablet application, which replaces on-floor printed lay slips. The application is based on cloud computing and takes data from intelloCut, transforming business from traditional to environment friendly.
The advanced reporting structure of IntelloCut provides an edge to the manufacturers to get complete control over factory ’s practices through IntelloMobile: World’s first fabric utilization reporting app. IntelloMobile provides 100 per cent real-time traceability of fabric, with all reports on mobile phone. intelloBuy is a material estimation solution for the sewn products industry. It is the second product by ThreadSol, taking the enterprise material management model of the company to the next level.
IntelloBuy gives accurate buying consumption for a particular style which saves millions of dollars of material cost at the buying stage, every day, for manufacturers worldwide. IntelloBuy accesses factory historical database and allows the user to add exact wastage from factory floor to generate the most accurate fabric requirement. This can save up to 10 per cent fabric cost, ultimately boosting profit. Through the advanced reporting offered by intelloBuy, one can get details of the consumption calculation for different style/ order, vendor details for width/ shrinkage, factory process loss, buyer’s details of size-wise order break-up etc.
intello3C is an AI based cost negotiation platform. Intello3C aims to reduce sourcing cost and costing lead time for apparel brands. The current market scenario is very challenging. The lead time and retail prices are constantly decreasing whereas the cost of sourcing continues to increase.
Currently vendor cost negotiations are based on merchant experience. There is little focus on scientifically arrived accurate internal cost benchmarks for various cost components like fabric, CM, trims etc. for each style that is costed. This inflates the sourcing cost. Moreover, most vendor cost negotiations are carried out over email and excel that is time consuming and adds to the ever shrinking lead time.
With fast fashion, the challenges with vendor cost negotiations are going to multiply. This is already resulting in suboptimal costing. Intello3C uses advance technology like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Mobility and Agile Analytics to solve this problem. Intello3C creates scientific and fact based benchmarks for all the cost components.
intello3C uses AI that can automatically negotiate the best cost with the vendors without needing any manual inputs from the merchant teams. intello3C results in 3- 5 per cent decrease in sourcing cost and 30 per cent decrease in costing lead time.
ThreadSol solutions- intelloCut and intelloBuy, currently used by manufacturers in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Philippines, Cambodia, Jordon and Turkey, have already set standards amongst Sewn Products’ automation solutions worldwide. The revolutionary solutions are presently benefiting more than 150 apparel factories like Hirdaramani, Luenthai, MAS, PtDaese, Raymond, Pacific Jeans, Omegaline etc., helping them save up to 10 per cent fabric cost.

CNC-controlled large-area sewing technology by PFAFF
The PFAFF 3587 CNC-large-area computer stitcher with a sewing area of 500 x 300 mm is designed for manufacturers who process reliability and production outputs are equally important. At the core of the stitching automat is the intermitting material feed system featuring a patented drive. Because of the intermittent feed (feed stop when the needle enters the material) a positional change of the cuts in the clamp are avoided. This way, the PFAFF 3587 ensures the highest stitching accuracy and very high sewing performance. The PFAFF 3587 is the one and only in the world which performs 3,200 s.p.m. with intermittent feed.
The sophisticated sewing technology based on a seam-optimization system (needle-turning device + bobbin thread slide) ensures superb seam quality and a perfect stitch pattern in multi-directional sewing operations. The needleturning device in combination with the bobbin thread slide and the vertical hook prevents slip stitches in highly decorative seam patterns with a circular seam contour.
The unique automatic clamp-changing system permits a completely overlapping fully automated operation. Only the material still has to be inserted manually. ”Ergonomics in the workplace” is of great importance in the PFAFF 3587. The machine features a height adjustment which may be adjusted to the respective operator at the push of a button (optional). Sewing programmes and corrections of the seams may be generated resp. executed right on the machine via a logically designed touch screen. The PFAFF 3587 has all technical requirements to tackle even the most sophisticated and challenging sewing operations, e.g. in the sections shoe production, small leather good production or in the automotive interiors.

Balanced-Coil Needle Detector by York Technology Ltd
“When it comes to detecting broken needle and other metal contamination in sewn product YORK® Technology continues to push the boundaries of performance. Ever since the concepts were pioneered in 1995 by the current founders of the Company, the technology based on “VLF* Electro-magnetic Balanced-Coil Bridge” in conjunction with “Active Phase Detection” techniques continue to deliver the most robust solution to detecting needle fragments buried inside garments that may have other metal components such as zips attached.
Since the electro-magnetic coils encircle the detection tunnel 360°, there are no half-measures or one-sidedness to this unique structure – the detector conducts a 100 per cent scan in a single pass at full sensitivity on each passing garment pack. No need to pass the garment twice or through two magnet type machines, nor to flip it and turn it in between two detectors. This makes double head magnet detectors redundant and the 9-point calibration check unnecessary.
Coupled with the inherent immunity from interference generated by sewing machine magnetic clutches and other electrically noisy equipment in the vicinity, a balanced-coil needle detector offers the most fit-for-purpose solution to meeting the Buyer’s compliance, in-house due-diligence practice, Brand Protection and Consumer Safety challenges all in one package.
The Company R&D Centre located in UK has recently added to the ND product range, extending it to 6 variants – tunnel heights from 105mm to 305mm in increments of 50mm with two tunnel widths at 550mm and 650mm are now available. This has broken new ground for achieving industry standard detection sensitivities** in larger individual products that have not been possible before.
All machines come complete with conveyor speed control, quick-release belt mechanism, reversing function, production data recording, report downloading via USB port, light stack and a colour touch screen. A foot pedal accessory is being tested as we speak, and there are many other novel value enhancing features in the pipeline to come.
The international brand retailers who know about the design advantages of Balanced Coil machines prefer it!
* VLF – Very Low Frequency.

Water is over, air is the future with Jeanologia
e-Flow technology is the sustainable textile solution to transfer chemicals onto garments made of any fabric. Conventionally water is used as the carrier and, at the end of every cycle that water, still brimming with chemical products, goes to waste. Jeanologia’s disruptive solution has been to create a new system in which air from the atmosphere is transformed into nanobubbles where water and just the right quantity of chemical products naturally distribute themselves forming the nanobubble skin. They become the carriers of the chemical products and transmit them homogeneously onto the garment. e-Flow technology can accomplish a considerable number of finishing effects with the highest quality, a minimal amount of water and zero discharge. This is why e-Flow technology is the only one certified as ecological by an independent laboratory.
E-Flow
e-Flow is the perfect fit for every industrial washing machine. It can be connected to Jeanologia´s Contact Box or your own washing machines and its processes can be applied to denim and other fabrics like knits. Among the many finishing effects are softening, tinting flow, 3D effects with resins, stone flow and random flow. You will be able to optimize the resources needed to give your garments the properties you wish, saving water and chemical products while you also shorten the process in time and steps.
E-Flow Lab
e-Flow Lab has been developed for testing and sampling. It functions just like the production machines but at a smaller scale and will enable you to experiment with all the finishing effects that can be accomplished in industrial conditions. A perfect reproducibility from lab to bulk is granted since the recipes can be transferred from one to the other ensuring the results are the same.
E-Flow Mix
e-Flow Mix allows you to expand the possibilities of your processes by having two separate tanks that can be filled with different chemicals that could never feature together in the same wash by conventional processes, releasing them at the precise moment to get the perfect interaction and grant the desired results. This way, you will save both resources and time.

Aura launches T-Shirt and Sweater printers
Aura Designs Ltd is the latest trendsetter in the digital textile printing technology arena. The company formed by a group of technocrats with more than two decades of wide and varied experience across textile and apparel sectors, aims to change the dynamics of the market. It is striving to bring the best hardware and software technologies together and integrating the same in its product portfolio. This has helped the company to launch state-of the-art, cutting edge products aimed at delivering higher outputs at lower costs thereby providing higher optimisation levels.
Today, the biggest challenge faced by DTG printers is the white ink itself. The white ink always causes problems for print head clogging and consistency of prints. The cost of digital white inks also makes it more expensive for the operational cost. The smaller printer available in markets does not give enough production and the bigger ones are too expensive and complicated to operate. To overcome all these issues; the company came up with“Smart Series of T-shirt Printers.” This printer is a perfect solution for printing on T-shirts / Panels with pigment inks. It works on white, light, as well as dark base.
Aura Smart T-shirt Printer combines the format of screen and digital printing; reducing printing cost and making use of white ink possible by screen. “Smart” uses a special software and sensor technology which makes the registration easy and can print multiple copies without ripping the designs again and again.
The printer has a speed of printing 80-140 T-shirts/hr and till day, more than 200 such machines have been installed worldwide. Some of its main features are:
- Print on light / dark garments • Production: 80 to 140 T-shirts / hour
- Fine printing | Brilliant colours • 2X EPSON 5113 Gold generation printheads
- White / Glitter, etc. done by screen printing • Printing width of the printer: 145 cm
- Standard printing table length: 6 mtr (Options available for 9,12,15 or 18 mtr)
- Glass table / pallets & computer to be provided locally by the customer
- Pre-treatment: Not required
- White inks are first printed via screen and then CMYK via digital. White ink used is wet on wet
- Post-treatment: Heat fixing thru tunnel heater/heat curing box
Another major introduction by the company is Aura Grand Sweater Printer. The printer could be installed with low Investment and has low maintenance cost with no limitation of colours. Given are some of its main features:
- Printing on cuffs & collars / ribs • 180 x 260 cm working width
- 4X gold generation Epson print heads • 8 colours • Strong Rip
- Easy registration • Robust designs
Groz-Beckert organises 3rd textile symposium “The Fabric Year”
19 June 2018, Groz-Beckert invited international guests to Albstadt for the textile symposium for the third time. Under the title “The Fabric Year 2018,” the company provided insights into the current market developments. Around 150 guests from over 20 countries from Asia, America and Europe followed the invitation.
Eric Schöller, Member of the Executive Board Groz-Beckert, who opened the Fabric Year, welcomed the participants. The first presentation of the day was given by Dr. Josef Braml, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik e. V., and focused on the global competition between the US and China, as well as the implications for Europe.
Andreas Engelhardt, Groz-Beckert Product Marketing and Innovation, then presented key messages from his established yearbook “The Fiber Year,” which he has been publishing as the owner of the company of the same name for many years. He reported that the global fibre industry achieved a growth of around 4 percent in 2017, after four years of falling growth rates. Although synthetic fibres continued to build on their prominent market position in the sector, natural fibres also experienced a more dynamic growth – a development that has not been seen since 2001.
Once the foundations had been laid with the extracts from the Fiber Year, Andreas Engelhardt and Martin Weiler, Groz-Beckert Market Research, moved on with the Fabric Year with the observations of the development and the current status of the national fibre and fabric production – always divided into knitted and woven fabric, as well as nonwovens. The markets in Vietnam and Indonesia were addressed first. An important common feature of both markets was the growing dependency on imports of fibre material, which is particularly relevant in light of the extremely dynamic expansion in fabric production.
This information was the ideal basis for the subsequent presentation held by Gail Strickler, President of Global Trade Brookfield Associates. She was a key player in the negotiations for the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) for textile-related issues and has been active in the private textile sector for many years. Her presentation addressed the Transpacific Partnership from the Asian perspective, the status of negotiations and the expected implications of the agreement for the global textile trade.
Over the course of the day, Andreas Engelhardt and Martin Weiler gave insights into the developments of further key textile markets. The developments in China, India and Bangladesh, as well as the US, were outlined in a block of presentations. A second presentation from Gail Strickler followed on the topic of the US. In this presentation, she provided exciting insights into the US trade policy and the status of negotiations for the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
There then followed a detailed examination of the markets in Germany, Italy and Turkey. Production in Germany has stabilised over the past few years at a comparatively high level and the textile industry in Italy – as a renowned fashion center in Europe – has also experienced a revival recently. An interesting outlook on the Italian fashion market was also provided by Dr. Davide Bonassi from the Italian Hosiery Association.
Engelhardt and Weiler completed the block of presentations with a worldwide summary, complete with an outlook through to 2022. Growth potential has been highlighted for all fabric production technologies, with particularly high growth levels in knitwear and nonwovens. The “The Fabric Year 2018” concluded with an evening buffet dinner, which offered space for discussions and exchanges.
Mouvent enters into strategic partnerships with key distributors
Mouvent – the Swiss start-up company focused exclusively on delivering the future of digital printing using pioneering digital technology – announced strategic partnerships with the principal distributors of textile printing solutions in Italy, Turkey, India and China. Mouvent offers a fully integrated solution, developing, engineering, testing and industrialising digital printers based on the Mouvent™ Cluster Technology, a highly integrated cluster design arranged in a modular, scalable matrix. Mouvent develops the controlling software, the inks and coatings, and provides a full service range.
- Francesco Aprile, Head – Italian Salesand Service Operations, Mouvent
- Cenk Elkatip, Area Sales Manager Mouvent
- Paul Yuen, President Jet Tech
- Vinod Krishnamurthy, Co-Founders Fortuna Colours & Prints LLP
The company has ambitious sales goals for its first textile printing solution, the very compact TX801, which prints with up to eight colours and completes up to 50 per cent of the print jobs in a single pass, boosting productivity up to 200 sq mtr/hr. The TX801 uses a compact proprietary print engine based on Mouvent™ Cluster technology, delivering the highest print quality at an unrivalled speed, precision and scalability, and with an optical resolution of up to 2,000 dpi. The TX801 processes knitted, woven and non-woven textiles with a maximum fabric width of 1,820 mm, with roll diameters of up to 400 mm.
“For us to reach our ambitious sales goals with textile printing solutions like the TX801, we identified Italy, Turkey, India and China to be the most relevant markets,” said Reto Simmen, Chief Business Officer at Mouvent. “Once we had identified those, we established a direct sales and service organisation in Italy and entered into strategic partnerships with the three other markets’ top-rated distribution companies for textile printers. They understand perfectly how their respective markets function and how the revolutionary Mouvent™ Cluster technology will help printing businesses to grow faster by offering a higher quality end-product at a lower cost.”
Mouvent chose its partners as much for their passion for digital printing as for their sales and support track record. This ensures the customer will end up not just with revolutionary technology, but also with the technical service and support to match. Italian textile products, including the apparel industry, are known worldwide, and Italy is the third biggest exporter of textiles worldwide, with an overall textile industry that keeps growing. Because of the importance of the Italian market, a direct Mouvent sales and service organisation was established in the country with Francesco Aprile at the helm.
“We are very excited to represent Mouvent in the crucial and innovative Italian textile market,” said Francesco Aprile, Heading the Italian Sales and Service Operations for Mouvent. “We believe that with this revolutionary technology, we are able to offer a real competitive edge to textile printers who are trying to move from traditional to the more flexible digital printing solutions without having to sacrifice either quality or performance.”
In Turkey, Mouvent is partnering with PSC, a company founded in 2001. The company has been involved with digital printing since 1995. In 2003, the company started to sell and support digital textile solutions for the textile industry with a focus on high-quality technical support and colour management, based on a long experience in textile printing.
In 2012, the market started converting to digital beyond sample printing and this developed very quickly. PSC started working with Mimaki and D.gen equipment and between 2012 and 2016, more than 500 digital printing machines were installed.
PSC was convinced after meeting with Mouvent’s Co-Founder Piero Pierantozzi and learning about his plans and new approach to digital printing on textile that they should be part of the journey from the very beginning. They see great opportunities and successes ahead as a Mouvent sales and service partner.
Cenk Elkatip is Mouvent’s Area Sales Manager and has many years of experience in industrial textile printing with scanning machines as well as single-pass machines. He said, “The print quality of the TX801 is near-perfect, but in addition, customers will love its competitive price per sq.mtr, compared to basic digital printers. It’s the combination of quality and affordability that makes the Mouvent offering such a compelling one.”
In China, Jet Tech will represent Mouvent textile printing solutions. Jet Tech was created by Paul Yuen, a prominent figure in the Chinese textile market since 1977. In 2016, Paul learned about Mouvent and its innovative technology and realised this would be the future of inkjet printing.
Paul Yuen, President of Jet Tech said, “The TX801 has a very competitive price/ performance ratio compared to basic digital printers, but its print quality is unrivalled. It is a privilege to support Mouvent and distribute this technology in such an important market as China. Building a strong and reliable Mouvent support team serving Chinese customers is a mission to which we commit 110 per cent.”
For India, Mouvent identified Fortuna Colours & Prints LLP. Vinod Krishnamurthy, one of the co-founders of the company, started digital printing on textiles in 1998. The company launched Mimaki, Reggiani, Hong Hua, Kornit, Huntsman and almost a dozen brands, ranging from ink over software to machines.
“We were the first to set up a center for textile printing, servicing the industry as nobody wanted to buy a 100,000 euro machine with 500 euro inks,” Krishnamurthy explains. “We printed for top designers in the country and we partnered with manufacturers before. But when we enter into a partnership, we want to share the responsibility for the service, support and ownership of the technology as we are not interested in box moving. This is one of the reasons why we jumped at the opportunity to organise sales and support for Mouvent in India.”
Mouvent has high expectations of the partnerships. Ghislain Segard, Marketing and Sales Manager, Textile Machine at Mouvent said, “We picked out Italy, Turkey, India and China as our four key markets for the rich and long history of their respective textile industries. It is here, where innovations in textile printing are appreciated for their intrinsic worth, and we expect the Mouvent™ Cluster technology at the heart of our textile printing solutions to catch on very quickly.”In co-operation with its partners, Mouvent will also set-up a showroom in each of these countries.

The LaForte Studio Paper 340 guarantees the highest quality featuring lighter and cheaper paper. It reaches a speed of up to 600 sqm/hr and features a patented rotary belt with an air vacuum system.
There are several reasons that support the effectiveness of transfer printing. Transfer printing uses 20 per cent to 30 per cent less ink at no additional costs, printing is consistently on the same media, it is possible to print on a wide range of textiles and colours are more vivid and there is no risk of ink rubbing off.
Epson presents Monna Lisa EvoTre 16 printer
Epson and its subsidiaries, For.Tex and F.lli Robustelli, displayed the new Monna Lisa EvoTre 16 printer at FESPA 2018 expo. The digital printer was designed by the engineering company F.lli Robustelli and boasts the latest innovative and exclusive proprietary printing technology, Epson Precision Core which is considered the standard for high-quality digital printing in the industrial textile sector.
The new Monna Lisa EvoTre on-show had 16 heads, with eight colours and the ability to use acid, reactive, disperse and pigment inks. It is extremely versatile and can adapt to a continually evolving market such as textiles. Monna Lisa EvoTre 16 is available in three different print heights (180-220-320 cm) and meets the needs of a market which requires high print quality but not high productivity – instead, it focuses on products of excellence.
At FESPA 2018, Monna Lisa EvoTre 16 demonstrated pigment printing, an application which is strongly growing. This is due to its economic and environmentally friendly benefits, since it does not require steaming and washing as post-treatment phases.
Thanks to the optimised updating and maintenance protocols developed by F.lliRobustelli’s engineering team, the non-replacement of the Monna Lisa structural parts results in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions compared to an alternative and more invasive revamping cycle. This reduction can be qualified as an indirect environmental benefit.

Light Diffusing Ink
Light Diffusing Ink is a product for screen printing on optically transparent glass, PC and PMMA panels that is visible only through a dedicated LED illumination: The printed image is in fact invisible in natural/artificial light condition or without any lighting, turning coloured only when the LED source, located at the edges of the transparent substrate, is switched on. The final effect is therefore that of a “light ink” capable of spreading the light of the LEDs, whatever colour it is, resulting in graphics with a strong visual impact. The potential of this product and its practical applications are numerous and particularly interesting in the Signage and Habitat Industries.

Huntsman unveils TERATOP® XKS HL inks for colour-fast technical textiles
Huntsman Textile Effects is the leading global provider of high quality dyes, chemicals and digital inks to the textile and related industries. It uses cutting edge technology to develop solutions and create innovative products with intelligent effects such as durable water repellents, colour fastness, sun protection or state-of-the-art dyes which reduce water and energy consumption.
TERATOP® XKS HL inks for colour-fast technical textiles
It has introduced a new range of disperse inks that deliver outstanding light- and weather-fastness for digital printing of polyester fibres. TERATOP® XKS HL inks are designed to help mills produce technical textiles with the highest colour-fastness performance for the automotive, outdoor furnishings and home textiles industries. Materials used in automotive interiors, outdoor furnishings and other demanding environments have to resist fading, yellowing or other colour change when exposed to light and high temperature. While digital printing is ideal for producing highly patterned and vivid high-value textiles in an environmentally sound way, current digital ink technologies do not meet the industry’s weathering and sunlight-fastness demands. This is particularly true in the auto sector, where upholstery, seatbelt webbing and carpets are often subject to intense sunlight and temperatures.
“Colour-fastness to light and heat are the critical success factors for technical textiles. TERATOP® XKS HL is the only ink range available in the market for industrial digital printing that meets the high lightfastness standards set by the automotive industry,” said Michael Mordente, Director, Digital Inks for Huntsman Textile Effects. “This innovation from Huntsman helps mills improve their existing auto and outdoor products or move into this high-value segment of the market.” The TERATOP® XKS HL inks are first-in-class disperse inks capable of printing on technical textiles that require extremely high colourfastness and tone-on-tone colour fading. Mills can achieve the deepest black shades and a wide spectrum of colours, with metamerism consistency to meet the needs of customers and end-consumers.
In addition to helping mills produce high-value textiles, the inks also help improve mill competitiveness. Formulated for Kyocera print head technology, TERATOP® XKS HL inks offer excellent reliability, runnability and reproducibility. Mills benefit from faster production, minimal ink consumption, less wastage and reduced equipment maintenance. This helps them maximize their productivity while reducing the cost of digital printing. Automotive industry experts from Huntsman provide training, testing and technical support to mills using the TERATOP® XKS HL inks. Based on high-energy Huntsman dyes, patented chemistry and blends, the new inks are fully compatible with Huntsman’s UV FAST range of UVabsorbers, which help improve light-fastness, fibre stability and finishing products.

easyWASH
Thanks to its extraordinary compactness and versatility, easyWASH can be easily installed into any production department in combination with one or more textile inkjet printers using reactive inks, acids or any other ink chemistry that needs washing. The exclusive motionless technology that comes from the long-term experience of Cibitex in the manufacturing of textile finishing machinery enables easyWASH to wash reels of fabric up to 100/150 meters of diameter (variable depending on the weight of the fabric) in reduced spaces and with the highest ease-of-use.
easyWASH is designed to minimise the consumption of primary goods, first water and electricity. Thanks to a water supply system with separate reservoirs at different temperatures and with high thermal stability, the electricity consumption is drastically reduced compared to conventional systems. The sophisticated control interface and the ability to define process presets, guarantee short and precise operations, allowing you to use only the minutes, liters, watts and the doses of detergent strictly necessary to wash the required meters of fabric.

easyCOAT/DRY
Thanks to its compactness, versatility, ease-of-use and fast turnaround times, it can be installed in any production department and can serve one or more inkjet printing units.
More versions and on-field upgrade capabilities
Thanks to its modular design, easyCOAT/DRY is available in different widths and can be ordered with full coating/drying units or just the drying module for basical requirements. In order to protect the customer’s investment in the long term, all the drying only units can be upgraded on-field with the coating station. According to customer’s everyday needs, the multifunctional unit can be easily used as dryer-only by disabling/bypassing the coating station.
easySTEAM
Designed to operate in combination with low and midproductivity textile inkjet printers running with acid and reactive inks, easySTEAM is in the forefront of the textile printing industry. Thanks to its long-standing experience in textile pre-treatment and finishing plants, Cibitex has designed easySTEAM according to the steaming requirements of professional users in the clothes, linen and soft signage industry. The steaming process produced by easySTEAM is comparable with the chemical process normally achieved at dyeing plants. It’s suitable for a wide range of fabrics printed using reactive and acid ink chemistries on the most popular textile inkjet printers.
Even if powerful and highly-efficient, easySTEAM doesn’t work under pressure and it stands out for its ease-of-use and easy integration within existing workflows, even if operated by inexperienced employees. When installed at digital printing plants and service shops, easySTEAM uses the steam produced by its own steam generator, powered by the electrical system. The water utilised in the steaming cycle is regular tap water. The entire steaming cycle, regulated by an automatic timer and steaming pre-sets, ensures excellent results, stability of printed fabrics and unattended production except for loading and unloading operation.
Gerber Technology presents Pattern Design & Marking Software and conveyorized cutting systems
Gerber Technology delivers industry-leading software and automation solutions that help apparel and industrial customers improve their manufacturing and design processes and more effectively manage and connect the supply chain, from product development and production to retail and the end customer.
Keys to Faster Production Workflow for Digital Printing
Keeping Art/Image Placement within AccuMark® Pattern Design and Marking Software
Clearly, the best approach for apparel designers and production staff working with digital printing technologies is to keep the process of image-pattern placement “seamlessly digital.” Certainly, this means eliminating printed or pinned cloth and pattern samples, but it also means keeping this process entirely within the pattern design and marking system to avoid extra time delays and work steps in finalising nested patterns prior to the digital textile printing job.
Fortunately, the latest version of pattern design and marking software for apparel production, such as AccuMark V11 from Gerber Technology, now provides integrated image placement and positioning within and alongside all of the main features provided in these apparel production systems.
Original art, pattern, or image designs to be printed on the garment are imported directly to Gerber Technology’s AccuMark as standard image files (JPG, BMP, and PNG) files, and can then be placed, positioned, and cropped in a pattern or in nested patterns within AccuMark. The design image file is placed on the base size pattern and can then be automatically re-sized and adjusted for each graded size. At this point the individual pattern pieces are positioned and marked onto the fabric, making use of all of the production-enhancing features of an automated marking system for apparel manufacturing, optimizing pattern placement to minimise material waste and maximise savings on cut material costs.
This process of digital pattern image placement is not only limited to digital printing applications: It can also be used on fabrics which have been printed or woven by conventional means, to precisely position fabric on patterns and insure that key image elements of the fabric, such as decorative borders or other major design elements, can be specified and positioned exactly on patterns to achieve the desired look in the final clothing design.
Is Your Production Workflow Ready for Digital Printing and Image Placement?
Using a streamlined approach to image-pattern placement, apparel production professionals save time and eliminate unwanted steps in their production workflows, and gain the fullest advantage from using digital printing in their apparel manufacturing and marketing operations. To get your production workflow ready for digital printing, and to get the most from the promise of the exciting new designs and faster timeto- market now possible with this technology, make sure the functionality of your pattern design and marking system is up to the task of streamlining your workflow and reducing your design and production schedules.

GERBER TECHNOLOGY Contour Vision
The Contour Vision system is an option on GERBER cutter® Z1 conveyorized cutting systems. It is comprised of intelligent software, a colour scanner and a LED (lightemitting diode) bar. The scanner captures an image of the custom-printed pattern/ image and sends it directly to the Contour Vision software. Image processing is extremely fast and cutting begins immediately with no need to create timeconsuming cut files. By automating the cutting process and eliminating the need for cut files, the system enables you to reduce labour costs.
The Contour Vision system is highly accurate so material is never wasted. It calibrates automatically to compensate for misaligned patterns and bow/skew in the material. It captures all patterns if the scanner is able to detect a contrast between the edge of the pattern and the material being cut. The user can easily add negative or positive offsets to the detected border. The software also detects notches automatically. For example, it will automatically detect a v-notch and will add the notch to the cut.
