Garment Technology Expo (GTE) 2022, one of the leading international trade shows for garment industry, took place at Gayatri Vihar, Palace Ground, Bengaluru from 8th–10th October, 2022. The event brought together a large number of industry visitors from this sector where wide a range of garment machinery, accessories and support services from all over the world were showcased. In fact the show had a complete display of garment machinery solution. The show was approved by MSME and supported by the garment industry associations. Geminy sewing machine was platinum sponsor who launched their industrial sewing machine. The co sponsors of the show were IIGM, HCA, AM Automation Solutions, Ramsons, Mehala and Gauge.
This year, around more than 200 companies including leading manufacturers and suppliers garment machinery and accessories from India as well as abroad participated in the show. Nowadays, the market sentiments are good after covid, which was also visible during the show. Indian exporters are looking for investing in automatic machines as the industry is facing a lot of labour problem these days. The show this edition received very good response and more than 11500 visitors from not only Bangalore and nearby regions but also Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Tirupur and Kerala visited the show.
The 9th edition of GTE Bengaluru was inaugurated with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony by Chief Guest Poorana Seenivasan, Executive President from Gokaldas Exports Limited with Ricky Sahani-JMD, Ambrish ChopraDirector and Rathi Sahani-Director from Garment Technology Expo Pvt Ltd in the presence of leading technology suppliers from the industry like Vijay Dua, Karan Dua from Geminy Industrial Enterprises, Megha Anand from HCA, Sunder Belani from Ramsons, Pavan Kapoor, Kartik Kapoor from IIGM, Madhu Kapoor from ALT, Akshay Sharma from Magnum, Viraf Turel from E.H. Turel, Manjeet Singh Saini from Paramount Instrument and Bharath from Mehala machines.
GTE Bengaluru, having started in 2006 is held every alternate year and is also growing in stature and reaches with each show. The last show was held in August 2018 and was keenly patronized by the apparel and knitting machinery & accessories manufacturing and the show was keenly awaited by industry. This edition of the show received good and positive reactions from the exhibitors participating in the same. In terms of organisation the show was better. The show this year witnessed a reduction in visitors from Tirupur knitwear hub. But the quality of visitors which comprised the serious buyers from leading companies from all over India especially Bangalore was very well appreciated by the participants.
Now GTE exhibition is considered the best launchpad for introducing innovations, technology upgrades, new materials, processes, and services for the garment and knitting industries in India. Hence, it is the best platform to introduce new technologies, services and processes. Also, to build new relationships and business alliances where buyers and sellers interact directly. This is the best place to position and promote your brand.

This time we have shown Juki smart factory set up. Smart factory concept is to support customers to attain maximum production & consistent quality. Therefore we have been evolving our technologies in the fields of Automatization, Digitalization, and Networking.
The Smart factory concept is being prepared keeping customer’s need of today’s competition in apparel manufacturing in terms of production, quality and delivery. We can help customers to set up a world class factory with all modern automatic and digital machines with a smart IOT system to monitor production in real time basis. This concept is widely appreciated by many apparel manufactures in the world.
Due to the rise in global competition, factories are required to reduce their manufacturing cost and to support them, JUKI is coming up all new range of automatic machines which will help them process cost reduction. Apart from cost reduction there are benefits like consistent quality and reduced rejection rate as there is no manual intervention.
Apart from this we have also displayed JIN Hanger system; this is a newly introduced solution which reduces the helpers and increases productivity. Lastly we have elearning solution; developed to provide basic knowledge on sewing machines and sewing technology. The basic knowledge and skills acquired through JUKI e-learning can be immediately applied to daily work. Two different types of training are provided: Individual training and Group training.
Recently JUKI-Pegasus has collaborated and we are displaying the first model of joint development “Differential Lower Feed Safety Stitch Machines and Overlock Machines with integrated Control box M900/DJ series. We have got a good response for this collaboration and joint development. At GTE 2020 we feel there was very good visitor footfall. Market sentiments are still slow according to the customers. The year 2022 looks promising, people are getting into new projects and are ready to invest in new technologies.
GTE is a proven show. They have attained certain level of standard in terms of facilities and formation. We at ALT are coming up with an objective here. It’s not for business or record sales. ALT’s main focus is on how to increase the efficiency of the operators. Today we need to upgrade the operators’ income and our main objective is to provide every kind of knowledge to operators. Once the efficiency increases, their earning increases and that is only possible with the right kind of technology. I want an operator should make 40-50 k per month.
We are always working in this direction and have taken one step forward by setting up of Centre of excellence. All the equipment displayed here are our latest innovations as R&D is the heart of our company. Our main objective is to display the latest technologies and let the technicians and operators understand how it can benefit them.
In GTE Bengaluru, we met variety of customers. We got a good response here. We are very happy with this edition. The expansion of the textile industry is happening in Bangalore too; garment factories here are upgrading their technology. The market is slow right now but everything else will be fine in the coming time.
We have a new spreading machine with some extra features from Bullmer, Germany. Siruba introduced a new singleneedle machine with larger sewing area. Complete automatic trouser line from Durkopp Adler, Germany. We also have many machines under the Orbito brand here. We have started the facility for manufacturing some of these machines in India under this brand. Since its start in year 2000, we have added a wide range of products into its product portfolio. The range of products include band knife cutting machines, straight cutting machines, thread trimming machines, cone winding machines, sewing machines, embroidery machines, finishing equipments CAD systems, packing equipments and many other allied products required by the sewn product industry.
Because the show is taking place after such a long time, the response is very positive this time. A lot of the customers are looking forward to. The year 2022 for Mehala is going very well. Domestic marketing is doing well. Markets are a bit slow due to the war, but after some time, everything will be fine.
We are showing our latest automation through our newly appointed agent for South India EH Turel. We are allowing them additional territory in South India. They are already an established company and have good team. Turel has extensive knowledge and experience with automation solutions, having previously sold VI.Be.Mac automation solutions.
We are displaying here IMB range for shirts automation, it is the main attraction for the visitors for the last 2 days. Everybody could see the live demo and understand the concept better. The main thing is to create awareness for the customers to see and believe. Here they could see the actual production. We had many brands and buying houses visiting our stall.
We also displayed our new overlock series, which was appreciated by the industry visitors. They also like the short-trim and accurate trimming of the machines. And we have also shown labour-saving devices here, all in the same direction of reducing dependence on skilled labour and making the operation easy with consistent quality. We also have new double needle sewing machine, which is electronic technology.
The customers needed something to help them to make accurate right-time returns and the no rejection in stitch quality product has been launched and after seeing our new technology with no rejection in stitch quality, customers could feel confident and have given their request to buy many of these machines. We are very happy with the outcome of the exhibition. We have visitors from even the other part of South India and some from North India.
Jack is always devoted to make it easy to produce clothes all over the world, which is the aim of Jack and also it’s driving force for continuous innovations. You know Jack is always doing the high quality machines. Every year we develop new things, this time we launched C2 Overlock Machine and it has multifunctional features, but it’s not only for high end segment, it is for the mid and lower segment also. Other new machine we displayed this time are Pattern Sewer, Intelligent hanger system and cutter with new software. Coming future we are planning the IOT machines.
All-potential customers are coming and were happy to see our new technology. We got a good response and serious as the exhibition is happening in Bangalore after a long time. Every year we are growing 20 percent, 2021 and 2022 was good for us. This year market is slow for everyone but industry is maintaining its standards. We are expecting more business in 2023.
We are showing our unique production system that can make any factory work and perform in a smarter and efficient way. This time we are showcasing the Bridging Solution, if any customers have space issue, we can merge the two lines to make it one line. This is the new concept. The hangers on one line will shift to other line. Today every factory demands faster products as production cycles are getting shorter and labour cost is growing. Our hanger systems can be highly useful in reducing production time making production faster and cost effective. We can customize the hanger system as per customer requirements. All our customers, who started with one line, now expanding and adding new lines.
The exhibition is being held in Bangalore after a long time and we have got a good response. The visitors are coming from Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahemdabad, Tirupur and Delhi also. This time the exhibition is successful in terms of visitors’ response and business. The year 2022 is going very good for INA and also we have added many new customers like Trident, Shahi Exports etc.
All over India few markets are very good and few are down. If you talk about West India, Central India they are doing well. As far as our sale is concerned we have doubled it in 2022 and we hope that 2023 will also be good for us.
This time in GTE we are showing our nesting programme called Techniques, which saves material and Master Minds a high level cut planning software which will optimise in order management, work duration, managing the patterns and warehouse. This is the upgraded software. We are constantly upgrading our software and machines. Morgan upgrades every 3 years with a new models. All our new hardware machines gives 15-20% more productivity. We recently started Make in India. Our factory is in Bangalore. We are making in-line equipment like inspection machines, spreading tables and other parts for cutting room.
Exhibitors always want to see something new, so the exhibitions should be once every 1-2 years. So that we have something new to show the industry. Due to back to back exhibitions, we also don’t have anything new to show. Otherwise, GTE has always been a good platform, for us as well as for everyone else. For Morgan in terms of business, 2022 has not been so good for us, this year has been a bit slow for us but 2021 was very good for us, better than 2022.
This time we have very micro small cylinder flatlock machine for baby wear, which is new in our booth, they have 145mm circumference, and also we are displaying Bottom hemming machine which is also smaller cylinder bed with fabric trimmer, then we are displaying Denim waistband machine featuring automatic cutting at the beginning and end of sewing, automatic skip stitching function which is also new in this exhibition. We are also displaying High speedoverlock machines, FX Series – elastic attaching machines, Front placket with stacker sewing machines with labour saving devices.
GTE has always been good for us, first 2 days were very busy for us. Response wise, business wise it is good for us. We had customers coming from South India and also from North India. And after so long, everybody got a chance to meet at the exhibition. In terms of business, post corona 2021 was very good for us. But this time Market is going slow since the last 2-3 months. After this ongoing war, things will be fine and the market will also be good for the industry.
We have shown many new technologies under Duke brand, specifically sleeve placket machines, automatic bottom hemming machine and the world’s first pocket felting machine which can turn do the topstitch and the bartack in one row, which reduce your time. Here our focus is on automation. Our automatic sleeve placket setters do not even require folding. We have also introduced lot of multi-needle machines, which have UBT, these machines are top of the line, under the brand Duke.
The response was absolutely phenomenal. Customers were curious and were looking for new technology after four years of COVID. Eventually, we found the right place to showcase our fresh innovations and meet customers. Bangalore is the best market for automation. We also had customers from other places MP, Tirupur, and Gujarat.
I want to say that God is very kind to us. In fact, I would also like to thank my competitors, who are constantly competing with me and making sure that I have something new to do every day. We have a very good chance to increase our numbers as orders are shifting from China to India. The Government needs to support us. I think the government’s initiative on FDA and PLI now coming to Apparel also will be a good boost to the industry.
We have complete bonding solutions. The seam selling market is already big for us on the jacket side but we are trying our best to put the Indian brands to understand about the bounding. We are ready with our new design house cum small production centre where we are offering sampling and bulk production. We give them the concepts, help them in their design and also supply different kind of trims which is very important to make a design attractive. If customer is happy, we let them buy the machines and set up their owns production.
I will always say bounding is not just about the machines; it is not just about the process, it is all together process application good trims, good machine and the recipe. If anything you bypass, the bounding will never be successful. So, we insist the people to have a technical collaboration with us to make this better future. We always see the future market is very good for bounding.
Yes bounding will never replace the stitching but bounding quality if compared to stitching is high quality and I will be always push the industry to use bonding in their garments. When I started, people did not know about this but now, I see the brands are taking interest and discussing with for developing their collections.
The response has been positive. I’m really proud of Bangalore customers who give some importance to the industry and take it seriously rather than see it in passing. We had designers, merchandisers coming to us. Generally, it is a machine exhibition, but we attracted all kinds of people. All over the world the market is little bit slowly but since we are into a specialised section our market always remains the same, up and downs is always there but technology wise we cannot find our competitors.
The major highlights from us are the automation for denims by Sip-Italy. Next is the automation for knits from Supreme like automatic 5 station heat transfer machines, Double Position Elastic Joining Machine, Automatic Elastic Stitching Machine, Smart Template Sewing Machine and Punching Machine. And for the first time we have displayed the most advanced Automatic Hanger/Conveyor system for the Garment & Home Textile Industry from Sunrise, China. In Sunrise machines, the advantage is that this has an integrated system, which is at present not available in any other machine.
AM Automation Solutions, is a joint venture of two companies operating in South India. AM Automation Solutions stands for Alpine and Magnum having offices in Tirupur and Bangalore. All the automation machines will be taken care by AM Automation Solutions only.
The response is very good; this is the first time for us. We are happy to be here. For us, 2022 has been the same as 2021. Well, everything is fine, but right now the industry is little slow. Hope everything will be fine gradually.
This time Gauge only displayed all affordable automation, which is divided into segments like jeans, apparel, shirts, trouser, non-apparel and luggage industry. All the displayed automations can be used to simplify production. Some of this automation comes from Turkey like AGM and China like Supreme. We are also the agents for Kansai and Brother sewing machine. So all in all, we are providing complete solution to the garment industry from cutting to finishing.
For last two years, we are constantly expanding. We have a good base now in the Non-apparent segment also. We have a head office now in Bangalore with branches in Tirupur and Delhi with the fully furnished service team in all locations. I think the market is moving well. Last three months have been slow but otherwise last two years have been very good for us. I think the market was at the peak after covid 19. Not only the bigger units are expanding but B category and C category is also expanding. There are many new setups coming up of 100 machines, 200 machines, which are more domestic market oriented.
Bangalore is growing but not in comparison to the other markets like Tirupur and Delhi, NCR. Noida itself is growing and has about 2000 factories. I think the turnout has been good and most of the potential customers visited the show. So that is a very good sign. You could see all good clients coming here. People have appreciated the show and technology because I think last three-four years they had not seen any exhibition.
We are concentrating on cutting room solutions and we have come up with new nesting software, which a cloud nesting. So we are now trying to go online, we are trying to reduce their capex. It is very intelligent software at very attractive price, which anybody can afford. It gives additional 3% saving on fabric compare to earlier version. We have got phenomenal response of this. Every month we are installing two projects, we just completed Spyker jeans cutting room automation project and many are in pipeline.
The idea was to create products that not only offered state-of-the-art solutions, but also were user-friendly and came at honest prices. We have always believed that technology must be easy to use boosting efficiency and productivity. We are today counted among the leading suppliers of CAD/CAM solutions and services in India.
GTE Bengaluru is happening after 2-3 years, the feedback we got is very good. The exhibition is being held in Bangalore after a long time, so people want to know what’s new in technology. This is the right time for the exhibition. In here we received very well inquires. And also the customers are really looking for new innovations and new technologies. Market is always growing. But it’s little slow for some time. I am sure after some time the market and the industry will come on its track. We are expecting 2023 will be good for all textile industry.
We are regularly participating in GTE exhibitions. Here, in GTE Bangalore, the response was very good. We are specialised in single-head embroidery machines. Our brand Fortever Single Head Embroidery machines come in a multi-colour with 1200 rpm and is one of the best brands in India. Fortever is the No. 1 among international brands and also in China. Here we are selling an average of 100 machines per month across India. Our network has more than 42 dealers. Our main focus is the dealership business. In retail, we are doing very little. We’ve been working with this brand for over 8 years. Our special focus on women’s empowerment and domestic business customers like homely ladies.
The year 2022 is going OK. Every year we are seeing growth. Every year, the market is expanding, even though there are so many small players. Our business is also very good because of our quality. Fortever has a good brand name all over world. We also give a 2 year warranty on electronic products like motherboards, sensors, LCDs, and all. We are giving a free replacement for 2 years. Recently, we launched a logo machine for small garment manufacture, HALO FT 1800. It is a very small machine, with a 9×13-inch frame. These machines are good for women who work from home.
At every exhibition, we want to have something new to show the clients. We have displayed plotter machine with Wifi technology, which is made of Taiwan motherboard so that you can get a very affordable rate. We got the machine done all for Indian market like you need the belt and any other parts of this machine; you can get it from India. The machine is made in China only but Indianized for the parts which are available in India. We make it very affordable for any small garment factory to have a CAD setup at 2 lakh, 60 thousand + GST. And we made it front-loading so you don’t have to pull the machine again and again for loading paper. We also have WiFi enabled machines where you don’t need physical connection, you can transfer files directly from your computer. One more thing is that one computer connects 100 plotters, which was not possible in earlier models. We have also started a pattern-training programme where we are teaching all pattern making at our CAD center. We teach software free of charge, so they get to learn and the company also gets benefits.
This time, I was must say that GTE Bengaluru has been one of the best editions for us in many years. All the good brands have visited us. In Bangalore, everybody is investing in technology. This time, everyone wants new technology. The textile industry is also growing. As innovations keep happening in this industry, so will the industry continue to grow.

The cutting machine, which we have displayed, is an intelligent machine having many advantages like it can adjust automatically as per the fabric thickness and type of fabric. It has many sensors and flexible to handle any kind of fabrics. The future is AI so we are working and implementing it in our systems.
India is our second largest market after Vietnam, we already have 40 spreader and 20 cutters in India. We received very good feedback from the visitors during the last three days of GTE exhibition. We had opportunity to meet many big exporter and domestic brands. We are quite happy with the visitor response.
We have launched Button Wrapping machine LV20 with short trim and its speed also very good. It’s this mechanism which ensures perfect balance between button and garment by wrapping and knotting. Other machine that we have is the Pocket Creasing Machine. In this machine the pocket mold is customized according to the shape & size provided by the customers, these two machines are introduced recently.
Exhibition response was very good, this exhibition is happening after 4 years, all valued customers visited and asked for the new technologies and we got a good response and orders for these machines. Market is always growing but only last month is slow, many new projects are coming-up and we are following on them. We are expecting 2023 will be good for all the machine suppliers. The year 2022 is very good for us. We almost reached your target, but the last month has been very slow. Otherwise, everything is on track.
We are displaying complete sewing machine range from Jack. Jack is becoming automated in a very big way. We have single needle machine, which are with direct drive options and stepping motor option. Jack is continuously improving the quality compare to any other competitor. The machines are more stable and quality of sewing is excellent. They are giving you value for money and they are giving add-ons which probably even the bigger brands are not able to give. That’s the reason they are growing. These days demand of casual wear is increasing and we have launched specialized overlock machine for knits. We have also displayed complete shirt automation from M.A.I.C.A., Italy, which is also a part of Jack. We have also displayed button feeder in our own brand ishark.
I would say that overall response was good. People have turned out and come to see new technology, which I think everyone is also displayed in the exhibition.
