The new team at Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA), a major trade organisation for the garment industry, will work together and more assiduously for the expansion of Tirupur’s apparel sector.
KM Subramanian, MD, KM Knitwear, and a mechanical engineer who has been elected the unopposed President of TEA, said “We have a perfect combination of experienced and young entrepreneurs in the new team. There are few well-deserving representatives in the EC who have got such a chance first time so they are very enthusiastic to work for the industry.”
KM Subramanian has served as VP, TEA and serving EC member of AEPC. He is also associated with many social organisations.
He further added that as a priority, we are working to have a hostel of at least 20,000 workers including men and women. TEA has formed an export promotion committee also, which will make sure that Tirupur can achieve apparel export of Rs. 30,000 cr.
With the guidance of Dr. A Sakthivel, Chairman, FIEO, TEA will continuously work to solve the issues of apparel manufacturers.
N. Thirukkumaran of Estee Exports India has been elected unopposed for General Secretary, while Rajkumar Ramasamy of Best Corporation and Elangovan of SNQS Internationals elected VP, R Gopalakrishnan, Royal Classic Mills appointed Treasurer and DK Kumar of Eastern Global Clothing elected as Joint Secretary.
D. Elango, Ahill Apparels; M Anand, Dean Textiles; M Ravi, Network Clothing Company; and Prem Agarwal, Junction Fabrics and Apparels are some of the EC members.
“We have received a tall mandate by electing all 25 of us contested in the election for office bearers and Executive committee (EC) members. We will reciprocate the trust of our industry by putting back Tirupur on growth bath,” concluded KM Subramanian.
